We’re poolside at the Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort, one of the most stunning properties in the Philippines, where the Miss Universe New Zealand 2015 Top 20 enjoyed the tropical warmth and great service for the last leg of their five-star retreat. Aalimah Rahman talked about the finalists’ arrival and the astonishing beachfront dinner they enjoyed; Olivia McCabe and Mei Barry look at the visit to the Chocolate Hills Adventure Park (CHAP) a slice of eco-tourism for thrill-seekers who didn’t fear the Bike Zip, suspended 150 ft in the air; Monique Thomas-Long and Layla Dole sampled slightly more down-to-earth activities (though very thrilling nonetheless) at CHAP. For lunch, Nickie Slater says she enjoyed the Loboc River Cruise, and Ella Wilson revealed a hidden talent playing ukeleles with local women who play along the route. Kaitlin Wood enjoyed the visit to the Philippine Tarsier Foundation reserve, to visit the endangered tarsier, the world’s smallest primate; and Sophie Batten utters her catchphrase that was oft-heard on the retreat.
